Rib Dysfunction / Displacement
What is Rib Dysfunction?
This is a condition where your rib has been displaced from its attachment to the thoracic spine on your back or to your sternum on the front of your chest. Your rib is not rotating or moving properly in the joint which can be very painful.
What are the symptoms?
- Pain while taking a deep breath in out
- Difficulty sneezing, coughing, laughing or straining due to pain located where the rib has been displaced or rotated from the spine
What are the causes?
Typically this is a traumatic injury with a force applied to the ribcage, thoracic spine or front of your chest.
